Community Guidelines for Single Mothers Peer Support

Welcome to our online community! This is a safe and supportive space for single mothers who come together to provide intentional peer support, share collective wisdom, and participate in face-to-face events. To ensure that everyone can engage in a positive and empowering way, please follow these community guidelines.

1. Respect and Empathy

  • Treat all members with respect, empathy, and kindness. We all come from different backgrounds and experiences, but we are united by the shared journey of motherhood.

  • Listen actively and communicate with compassion. Remember that everyone’s experience is valid, and offer support without judgment.

2. Confidentiality and Privacy

  • What’s shared in the community stays in the community. Do not share personal information or conversations from this group outside of the platform without permission.

  • Respect members' privacy. Do not ask for or share private details like addresses, phone numbers, or personal situations unless explicitly given consent.

3. Intentional Support

  • Our community thrives on mutual support and shared experiences. Offer advice and encouragement from a place of understanding and kindness.

  • Remember that there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution. Respect that others may have different approaches to their challenges and respect their individual journeys.

  • Focus on positive, actionable advice. If you're offering suggestions, ensure they are empowering and contribute to the well-being of others.

4. Non-Judgmental Environment

  • We embrace all single mothers regardless of background, situation, or life choices. Discrimination, shaming, or judgment in any form will not be tolerated.

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive space for mothers of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, and family structures.

5. Constructive Communication

  • Keep discussions respectful, even when you disagree. Healthy debates are welcome, but always remain calm and considerate.

  • Focus on building solutions, not tearing down others. If you have a critique or suggestion, deliver it in a constructive way that encourages dialogue and learning.

6. Collective Wisdom and Shared Learning

  • This community thrives on collective wisdom. Share your experiences, insights, and knowledge with others, but also be open to learning from others’ experiences.

  • Support each other’s growth and well-being. Offer encouragement when someone shares a victory or challenge, and acknowledge the progress others are making.

7. Face-to-Face Event Etiquette

  • When attending face-to-face events, approach others with an open heart and mind. These events are an opportunity to build deeper connections and offer in-person support.

  • Respect each other’s physical boundaries and personal space during in-person events.

  • If you attend an event, try to arrive on time and be prepared to engage meaningfully with the group.

8. Zero Tolerance for Harassment

  • Harassment, bullying, or harmful behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes verbal, emotional, or physical abuse.

  • If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please reach out to a community leader or moderator immediately. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.

9. Be Open to Growth

  • This community is a place of growth for all of us. Be open to new perspectives and allow yourself to evolve as a mother and as a person.

  • Encourage others to step out of their comfort zones, share their stories, and grow together. No one is perfect, and we are all learning from each other.

10. No Spam or Promotions

  • This is a space for peer support and connection, not for unsolicited marketing or promotions. Please do not use this community to advertise products, services, or other groups without prior approval from the moderators.

  • If you wish to share resources or opportunities that benefit the community, please do so with consideration and always prioritize the well-being of others.

11. Use Appropriate Language

  • Be mindful of your language. Avoid using offensive, derogatory, or inappropriate terms that could alienate or harm others.

  • We are here to create a positive space where everyone feels safe and respected.

12. Report Concerns

  • If you encounter a situation that feels inappropriate, harmful, or violates these guidelines, please report it to a community leader or moderator. We want to maintain a safe environment for everyone.

  • Respect those who report concerns and understand that we handle all issues with confidentiality and care.

These guidelines are in place to ensure that our community remains a space of empowerment, support, and connection. Let’s all work together to create a space where every single mother can thrive, share, and grow with others who understand and care. Thank you for being part of our journey! 💖
